It is
interesting how our evaluation of games are based not only on
the game itself, but our expectation of what the game should
be. Case in point:
Pirates - The Legend of Black Kat
sits squarely in the bargain bin ($19.99 at posting), but
guess what? It’s fun to play and not like anything else out
there – 4 Planets, what a deal. BMX is the opposite. Maybe the
most hype ever for a game and you will probably see it in the
same bargain bin a month after Christmas, and it would still
be a waste of money.
I was not planning to review this game so soon and this
answers one of the big questions out there: “Yes, Blockbuster
rents BMX XXX”. So you can feel like you have only been ripped
off $5 instead of $50.

not BMX XXX it is BMX R 5% of the time and BMX PG-13 95% of
the time.Unless
the Blockbuster Xbox version I got was different than the one
sold to the public there’s about 1 minute of topless women
total and about 15 minutes of cut scene video with some
dancing women. Supposedly you can unlock stuff to get naked
riders but 99% of the world will give up long before then.
As you can see, I was intrigued by nudity more than yet
another BMX game. I am not a huge fan of the genre either so I
also tend to lump BMX as the same as Skating and Snowboarding
games. I am all set with Shawn Palmer, Tony Hawk, Aggressive
Inline, and even Jet Set Radio Future. BMX XXX is not on par
with the latest versions of any of the above. By coming up
short in nudity and quality, the only redeeming feature of
this game is the humor. Listening to the Pimps, homeless
people and watching dogs screw is funny in the “Dumb and
Dumber” kind of way. Sadly this game will find few buyers,
parents will keep it away from kids under 18; the core of
potty humor fans. Skate fans will find it sub-standard. People
expecting hardcore or at least some nudity will be let down.
And then of course, buying Aggressive Inline instead means you
have the freedom to leave it out and even let the kids play as
opposed to having to rush and hide it when the neighbors come
over.
