Well what could one say? The creative minds at Blizzard Entertainment and Blizzard North have created another masterpiece. Over the last several years, the world of computer games has grown rapidly. Many of the standards that have been set so high and constantly broken are accredited to Blizzard and their affiliates. "Diablo II: Lord of Destruction" is no different from any of their other titles. It gives Diablo fans one last act with several add-ons to sink their teeth into without making another Diablo game.

Act V is set in the barbarian Highlands where Baal, the last of the three prime evils, is on a frenzy to destroy the precious Worldstone, to unleash hell upon humanity. As soon as the music starts you can picture the north left in ruins as Baal’s minions terrorize the countryside.

The familiar feeling of hopelessness and devastation that runs in the Diablo series returns, but this time the music is orchestrated and contains an excellent horn section. As always, Blizzard does not disappoint when it comes to the soundtrack of their games.

If you have played the game from beginning to end, you probably have noticed that there aren’t any incredible graphics in the earlier acts. This makes sense because act I was in the making about three years ago. However, the expansion set has a considerable difference in the pre-rendered backgrounds. The colors are sharp, the texture is clear and definitive and even the NPC’s are clearer than before. Probably the best thing is the brilliance of the colors. Even if they are darker and gloomy, they still have a strong distinction to them.

Now if you sound interested in this great expansion, you are most likely wondering "Is this title compatible with my system?" chances are that if Diablo II runs on your computer, then the expansion set will. The top two pieces of hardware that I advise you purchase, would be a better video card, and more RAM. RAM isn’t too expensive to buy now a days, and a mid-range video card isn’t either. Several people have already said, "Why should I buy the game? It's just one measly act." Well first, Blizzard has made the stash bigger, decreased the rarity of gems, made class specific weapons, added new items, and an addition to a great classic story line of good versus evil. "Diablo II: Lord of Destruction" is a great add-on for the game of the year. The only bad thing is that Blizzard really cranked up the price on this one. It packs a whopping punch of $34.99 but I guess Blizzard thought it was worth it. I give this game four Planets, for great gameplay, sound, story, and graphics. However, I take off the fifth planet because of the price and the demanding system requirements. Overall, this is a great expansion to add to your library of titles.
