If there is a movie that can mix
James Bond
and Metal Gear
Solid as well as the
Bourne Identity
can, then let me know because this one rocks!
A fusion of a spy thriller and a
tactical ops film, Matt
Damon delivers for this
Summer movie blockbuster.
Despite the fact that the
Bourne Identity
is not as high grossing a movie as Spider-Man,
Matt Damon
proves he can carry a lead role in a movie of this sort.
After film bombs
The Legend
Of Bagger
Vance and All
The Pretty
Horses, Damon
certainly needed this movie to show moviegoers that his acting
career is not yet over.
Matt stars as Jason
Bourne, a CIA
agent sent on a covert assassination mission but has no
recollection of the ordeal. Based on
the Robert Ludlum
novels, The Bourne
Identity is full of action mystery
and intrigue. As the film progresses
you are slowly able to put the puzzle together and watch how
it unfolds. Also the cinematography
is excellent as it is filmed on location in old world
Europe. While
watching you definitely feel drawn into the suspense looking
at everyone as a suspect after Bourne.
This movie is full of action, but it
fits in perfectly with the script as not to overburden
spectators. It hosts a “bang-up” car
chase scene, nerve racking shootouts and intense fight scenes.
Hounded at every turn,
Jason travels on the lam from
Zurich, Switzerland
to Paris, France
to piece his life together. With the
aid of a woman he meets at the U.S.
embassy, Jason lives on a knifes
edge.
I don’t want to give away too much
of the movie because I definitely
think that it should be seen by as many people as possible.
I warn moviegoers with children that
there is violence, sensuality and some brief strong language,
but hey it’s only PG-13.
So take the day off to go see
The Bourne
Identity; I
guarantee that you will love it. I
give it 4 Planets because it was a
kick ass movie with great story and action.
However it lacks the perfect 5 Planet
rating just because I don’t think
that it got great publicity before it opened.
Make your next trip to the movies
The Bourne
Identity.
Jameson Rating:
4 out of 5 Planets
