never" department, we bring you a review of the June 2003

Kanye West - The College Dropout
[Reviews]
Kanye West - The College
Dropout scores a huge Planet rating! "Are you freakin' kidding
me? My favorite prolific producer just picked up a mic and
dropped an album, and he *produced* it also?... Kanye has been
making major waves in the music pool, he got a big start on
Jay-z's CD 'The Dynasty - Roc La Familia'..." Read the full

Dave
Matthews - Some Devil
[Reviews]
"Dave Matthews rarely has
time to get away from his regular band’s touring schedule as
the Dave Matthews Band has been one of the top touring acts
for quite a few years now. This album is his personal brief
departure, which finds Dave traveling down a different
songwriting path with much darker fare than his normally peppy
material." Go ahead... read the full review.

Dido -
Life For Rent
[Reviews]
"Dido Armstrong is back with
her angelic, yet seductive voice. Her debut album ‘No Angel’
was a huge worldwide hit and this sophomore effort is, in many
ways, just as powerful and should keep her atop the charts for
more years to come. There certainly is no sophomore jinx
here." Read more about Dido's 4.5 Planet second release.

Maroon 5 - Songs About Jane
[Reviews]
"Imagine for a moment, a
popular boy band with millions of built-in teenybopper fans
and a mega-selling hit record filled with hit after hit of pop
radio songs. No, Maroon 5 is not that boy band, but had they
lent their ‘Songs About Jane’ album in that direction where
some pop-boy band was lip synching these nifty tracks, this
album would have already been a massive hit and found itself
all over the place in the past year and a half." Click

Great Big Sea -
Road Rage
[Reviews]
Sure we're about 4 years late publishing
a review for this CD, but it's a testament to the work that we
still care about it. "‘Hailing from Newfoundland, the
band has developed a big following North of the border, yet
here in the States has been a much different story as they are
still a relative unknown." Now read the full review.

Guster - Keep It
Together
[Reviews]
"Guster
brings us their fourth release entitled ‘Keep It Together.’
The merry-prankster trio of Ryan Miller, Adam Gardner and
Brian Rosenworcel met in 1991 while freshmen attending Tufts
University in Boston, MA. They have done a fine job over the
years building a grassroots following through word of mouth by
means of extensive touring with their excellent live shows..."

Ruben
Studdard - Soulful Review
[Reviews]
American Idol is as big as ever, but not
quite as big as the big man himself - Ruben Studdard.
Here's a small slice of our Soulful review: "Along comes Ruben
Studdard, this burly brother from Alabama with a voice from
the heavens. Immediately, after his first tryout and receiving
his ticket to Hollywood, I picked this cat to win it all. He
had ‘Special’ written all over him."

Jay-Z -
The Black Album Review
[Reviews]
It's supposed to be Jay-Z's final effort, his retirement
album. However unlikely that might be, if it is true
than he's gone out with a full 5 Planets! Here's a taste
of Skrabble's review. "...this record has had more
expectations than Super Bowl commercials, so let's see if the
proclaimed god-emcee blesses the mic in his supposed final
LP." Now read it all!

Verbs -
Unlocked Review
[Reviews]
"Verbs (previously Knowdaverbs) has
undergone some changes. Previously rocking dreds, and a longer
name he has definitely switched up a few things, but more on
that later. Verbs originally got his break by hopping on a
track with label-mates Grits, and soon after was scooped up by
Gotee Records. He now resides in Tennessee and has released
two previous albums ('DaSyllabus' and 'Action Figure')..."

A Perfect Circle - Thirteenth Step
[Reviews]
"So you’ve heard something about Maynard James Keenan from Tool in another band? Well
you’ve heard right. For those who are followers of Keenan and his bizarre yet awesome
activities know about the band A Perfect Circle. Can’t get enough of Tool? Don’t hold
your breath for the next album as it looks like they won’t be getting back for awhile.
A Perfect Circle is NOT a side project, but an entirely independent, self reliant entity
in the world of rock. " Check out the full review by Nightswrath.

Sepultura - Roorback
[Reviews]
">"
Those of you who are fans of Sepultura know what you’re getting into even before you buy the album,
a hard hitting and heavy journey into South American metal. On this new trip the band has some new
tricks up their sleeve, and a semi-different sound. Although taking new courses, the band is still
deeply embedded in rock. I think metal heads will enjoy Roorback nonetheless. " Another music review on the shelf.

Nappy Roots - Wooden Leather
[Reviews]
">"
...Nappy is composed of six men putting it down for their state without any shame whatsoever.
After a full listen to their debut CD it wouldn't be true in any shape to deny their talent and
level of excellence. So after having such a successful (and may I say ridiculous) first album,
will they be jinxed by the sophomore slump? " Sounds interesting doesnt it? Read the full review by Skrabble.

"Go"
Out and Buy This, You Will Like It!
[Reviews]
"This latest effort, "Go", is
comprised of 11 new tracks, totalling approximately 45 minutes
of mind-blowing music. The album comes after a 4 year silence
in which the band toured extensively and regrouped for a
second wind. Well the time is now, so take a deep breath and
prepare for that second wind: The band
introduces you to the new album quite well with 'When You Cry'.
The tune leaves off right where "Everything You Want" left
off, all the while offering up a fresh spin on the Alternative
Rock genre..." We know that the album isnt due out for a few
weeks, but we just had to get this advanced review to you NOW.
