The Queen’s songs are out and what I have to say is awesome! The Queen of the Damned soundtrack is one of the better soundtracks for a great movie in a long time. Chock a block full of heavy music and famous artists. From Static-X to Marilyn Manson, the songs that were made for the movie were all written by Jonathan Davis from Korn and Richard Gibbs. Fourteen tracks of riffs heavy enough to raise the queen herself.

Only five of the songs from the cd are sung by Lestat and his band Satan’s Night Out. The songs were written specifically for the movie and yes they are excellent. However, there is a strange coincidence to all the songs. They sound like Davis sang them. Perhaps because the guitars were played by Munky and Head from Korn. Nevertheless, it is a sweet ending to a kick-ass movie. The rest of the cd is no pushover either. The Deftones, Godhead, Static-X, and others represent the spine tingling life of a head-banging vampire.

All the songs have a creepy slow, subtle energy burst to them that make you think to watch your back when walking at night. Stewart Townsend (Lestat) does a great job of portraying a vampire that would sing something like this. Here’s a lyrical piece from the song forsaken played by Davis Draiman from Disturbed:

Forsaken
"You see i can not be forsaken,
Because i’m not the only one
We walk amongst you
Feeding, raping
Must we hide from everyone."

If that doesn’t make you go out and buy this cd, I don’t know what will. Make this movie known as great amidst vampire movies by going out to see it and then buy the cd! After you see it, you won’t want it to end. So get off your computer and buy it! You can trust me it’s a good one. Besides, would you rather spend your money on some crappy movie like crossroads? Give me a break, and do me a favor get the cd.
