Lock up the family and hide the key.
Slipknot is back with a second helping of
insanity with your name on it. Slipknot's sophomore album, Iowa rips you a new
asshole with blazing riffs and the infamous deranged lyrics from the Knots front
man (# 8) Cory Taylor. Several metal fans agree that Iowa is an excellent
addendum to Slipknots infantry of anger inducing melodies. The familiar power
chords have returned, along with the chest thumping percussion from three
drummers that Slipknot is notoriously known for.
These masked men of
mystery seemed to have gotten their act together and produced something to not
only put them on the map but keep them there for a time to come. Their
self-titled debut album has elements of metal and hardcore mixed, however it
seems very disorganized in comparison to Iowa. On this album, all the
instruments collectively work simultaneously with all the others. In the first
album, the band didn’t appear to work together. It almost appeared that the band
members were going off on their own direction. An unmistakable difference is
heard on Iowa. Fans of slipknot are sure to agree that this supercedes any
previous attempt they have made to bring about a new edge to metal.

downloading it from the internet. The elementary conclusion is to go buy the cd.
I give it a 5 Planet rating. Only buy it if you think you can handle it.
It’s a
great way to vent your anxieties and frustrations. As a bonus, the liner notes
are excellently put together and smell funny too!
